  • Quality Assurance Analyst

    Who We’re Looking For?

    The Role 


    This role will be part of our Business Transformation and Enablement team. You will be accountable to engagements that form the entire software development lifecycle from idea to sustainment. 


    Responsibilities 


    As our ideal candidate, you’ll bring a forward-thinking mindset, a collaborative approach, and the drive to validate even the most stubborn software requirements. You will be responsible for defining and executing tests and providing input into testing frameworks to improve the technology solutions to meet the business’ needs: 

    • Writing specifications for both manual and automated test cases: design, creating, execution, deploy, and maintain testing suites to provide high code coverage, review and challenge functional specifications for specificity and testability
    • Developing and owning test artifacts including test plans and test scripts for both functional and non-functional testing practices.
    • Take ownership of functional areas to ensure that appropriate business analysis and development activities are in place: e.g., code reviews, appropriate unit test coverage, user story documentation.
    • Executing functional, regression, non-functional (performance, resilience, load, etc.) tests and managing defects. 
    • Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives, and performance to teams, peers, and management.
    • Liaising with project team members and uphold a one-team mindset with business analysis, developers, and business users.
    • Building a strong knowledge of fiscal regimes and petroleum industry knowledge
    • Proactively identify testing and process gaps, implement solutions to achieve efficiencies.
    • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
    • Assess, and proactively identifying opportunity for improvement along with recommendations for potential solutions; responsive to client’s needs 

    Qualifications for an Incredible Candidate 

    • 5+ Years of Experience in Software Quality Assurance 
    • ISTQB Qualification or similar
    • Experience testing complex business processes
    • Experience as a quality assurance analyst across the full development lifecycle
    • Proficiency in all levels of testing including functional, regression, smoke, business process, exploratory, etc. – manual & automation
    • Proficiency in working the Quality Assurance lifecycle: designing and creating test cases and test scripts to the execution and reporting of defects and test progress
    • In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, defect tracking life cycle, defect analysis & preparing defect matrix and project status metrics
    • Familiarity with MS SQL and Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Bright and motivated; a minimum of a 2.1 GPA or above in degree level
    • Personable and enthusiastic team player and self-starter with the ability to take the initiative in resolving challenges
    • Experience working within a financial services organization, or the petroleum industry would be highly desirable
    • Experience auditing financial calculations results preferability with a background in accounting or finance
    • Experience with advanced financial evaluation techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations, decision trees, tornado diagrams, spider diagrams, portfolio management, efficient frontiers, or real options theory
    • Development knowledge in .NET, especially experience in working with unit testing using NUnit
    • Independent decision making in undertaking initiatives and identifying and solving problems 

    Working with Us 


    This is a full-time contract ranging from 3-months to 18-months positions, MDT daytime hours. Based on your experience, you’ll earn a competitive wage between $50 and $75 an hour. You will have the opportunity to work for a respected leader in Oil & Gas.
